Oswald Trippe & Co., a Fort Myers-based agency, has merged with BB&T Insurance Services. The merger takes Oswald Trippe from the 39th largest insurance broker in the United States, based on revenue, to the seventh, in combination with BB&T.

Oswald Trippe has some 130 employees in Florida, with offices in Sarasota, Holmes Beach, Lakewood Ranch, Port Charlotte, Cape Coral, Naples, Miami, Weston, and Ocala.
